Welcome to Atrium. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website located at the-atrium.org and the services provided therein. By accessing Atrium, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or subscribing to Atrium, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use our services.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

• Age: You must be at least 18 years old to join our community.

• Account Integrity: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration.

• Community Standards: Your interactions within our social features must remain respectful and aligned with our manifest of a “thoughtful society.”

3. Early Access and Voluntary Contributions

Atrium is currently in a free Early Access phase. While access to the platform is free, users may choose to financially support the project.

• Merchant of Record: All financial contributions are processed securely via our official online reseller, Lemon Squeezy. They act as the Merchant of Record (MoR) for all transactions. Atrium never sees or stores your full credit card information.

• Pricing & Future Subscriptions: We reserve the right to transition to a subscription-based model in the future with prior notice to all active users.

4. Right of Withdrawal & Refund Policy

• Voluntary Support: Any financial contribution made during the Early Access phase is strictly voluntary and operates on a “Pay What You Want” basis to support the platform’s infrastructure and our reforestation efforts.

• No refunds: Because these voluntary contributions that grant immediate access to digital community benefits, all payments are final and non-refundable. By contributing, you explicitly waive your 14-day right of withdrawal under EU consumer law.

5. User Conduct and Content

As a member of the Atrium community, you agree not to:

• Post or transmit any content that is illegal, hateful, or harmful.

• Engage in any form of automated data collection (scraping).

• Use the platform for spamming or unauthorized commercial activities.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these standards.

6. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is our core value. Our use of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy. We prioritize using private, open-source, or self-hosted tools to minimize data footprints.

7. Intellectual Property

All content provided by Atrium (including the Atrium Manifest, design, and logos) is the property of The Atrium and is protected by copyright laws. You may not reproduce or distribute our content without prior written permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

Atrium is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform or any third-party plugins.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Stockholm.

10. Content Moderation & Administrative Rights

Atrium reserves the right, but not the obligation, to monitor, edit, or remove user-generated content that we deem, in our sole discretion, to be harmful, offensive, or in violation of our community values.

11. Service Availability and Maintenance

While we strive for high availability, Atrium is provided on an ‘as-available’ basis. We may occasionally experience downtime for maintenance, updates, or technical issues beyond our control.

12. AI Scraping and Data Harvesting Prohibition

Strictly prohibited is the use of automated systems, bots, or software to ‘scrape’ or harvest data, text, or user profiles from Atrium for any purpose, including the training of artificial intelligence models.

13. Modifications to the Service and Terms

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue any part of Atrium at any time. We will notify active users of significant changes to these Terms via email or a prominent notice on our site.

14. Termination of Project

In the event that Atrium ceases operations, all accounts will be closed. We are not liable for any loss of user-generated content upon termination of the service.
