privacy policy
Last Updated March 11, 2026
At Atrium, we believe that privacy is not a feature – it is a fundamental human right. Our platform is engineered to minimize data collection, ensuring your digital footprint remains as small as possible. We do not track you, we do not profile you, and we do not sell your data.
1. The Human Behind the Data (Data Controller)
The administrator of your personal data is The Atrium.
Location: Åkersberga, Stockholm County, Sweden (full correspondence address available upon direct email request due to privacy measures in the early access stage of the portal).
We are reachable at contact@the-atrium.org.
2. What We Collect & Why (The Essentials)
We only collect what is strictly necessary to make Atrium work for you:
- Account & Profile Information: When you join our community, we securely store your username and email address to manage your access and profile functionality.
- Internal Communications: If you use our internal messaging system, those dialogues are stored securely on our servers to facilitate your conversations. They are never scanned for advertising purposes.
- Voluntary Contributions & Payments: Atrium is currently in a free Early Access phase. If you choose to support us financially, please note that our order process is conducted by Lemon Squeezy. They act as the Merchant of Record for all our orders and process your payments securely. Atrium never sees or stores your credit card numbers. The reseller provides us only with a confirmation of your contribution and the basic billing details required by law to grant you account benefits.
- Technical Safety: We may process your IP address temporarily for the sole purpose of security – defending against attacks and ensuring our private server environment remains stable for everyone.
3. No Hidden Shadows (Tracking & Profiling)
- Zero Third-Party Tracking: We do not use invasive tracking pixels, social media trackers, or analytics that follow you across the web.
- Local Typography: We host our fonts locally. Unlike most websites, we do not connect to Google Fonts, ensuring your IP address is never leaked to tech giants just to load typography.
- Progressive Web App (PWA): To provide a seamless, app like-experience (including offline capabilities), our website may utilize standard browser caching and local storage. These are strictly functional and are never used to track your behavior.
- No Engineered Chaos: We do not use algorithms to manipulate your experience or profile your behavior. Your interactions are yours alone.
4. Security & Location
- EEA Hosting: To ensure the highest standards of protection, our website is hosted on servers within the European Economic Area (EEA), governed by the strict GDPR framework.
- Encryption: We use robust SSL encryption for all data travelling between your device and our server.
- Backdoor-Free: We prioritize self-hosted, open-source security tools to ensure no third-party has unauthorized access to your dialogue.
5. Your Data, Your Control
As a resident of the digital world under GDPR, you have full authority over your data:
- The Right to Be Forgotten: If delete your profile, we erase your data from our active databases, keeping only what is legally required by tax regulations for past financial contributions.
- Portability: You can request a structured copy of your personal data or a summary of your community activity at any time.
- Direct Access: You can rectify or erase your information by contacting us directly.
6. Respecting the Next Generation
Atrium is a space for mature dialogue. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of eighteen. If we discover a minor has shared information with us, it is deleted immediately.
How We Communicate
By creating an account, you agree to receive essential transactional emails, like password resets or account recovery. We despise spam as much as you do – you will never receive a marketing newsletter from us unless you explicitly opt-in.
